Application no-entry exemption for beach entrances for disabled persons
General
Motorised vehicles are banned from entering the majority of beach access points. In our municipality, people with disabilities can qualify for an exemption on presentation of a valid disabled person's parking card or a comparable European card. This means that people with disabilities can also access the beach. They can apply for an exemption for beach access point 15 in Sint Maartenszee and beach access point 17 in Petten.
You can also apply for an exemption on behalf of a person with a disability being transported as a passenger by a family member, for example. This exemption may only be used if the disabled person's parking card and the cardholder are both present.
How to apply for exemption
You can apply for either a temporary or a long-term exemption. The temporary exemption is valid for up to one month. Apply for a temporary exemption in the form of a day, week or one-month card by calling us on (0224) 210 400.
If you would like to go to the beach regularly, it is possible to apply for an exemption for more than one month. You should do this online.
Medical certificate
If you do not have a disabled parking card, you can get an exemption for beach access point 15 in Sint Maartenszee based on a medical certificate.
The medical certificate must not be more than 3 months old from the date of issue.
Maximum validity period for exemption
The exemption will be linked to the validity period of your disabled person's parking card. A disabled person's parking card is issued for a maximum of 5 years.
An exemption based on a medical certificate is issued for a maximum of 1 year.
Processing time
You can pick up a daily, weekly or monthly card at the Town Hall by appointment. But you can only do that, of course, if you can show your valid disabled person's parking card or medical certificate.
For an exemption for longer than one month, you must apply to us online. The municipality will then decide on your application within 8 weeks.
Lost, stolen or damaged card
If your exemption card and/or access pass is lost, stolen or damaged, you must report it to us as soon as possible.
Facilities at beach entrances 15 and 17
Both beach access points have parking facilities. Beach access 15 also has a beach pavilion.
