Remission

Several things are important when you request remission. For example: how much you earn and what assets you have. Will I qualify for remission? That depends on your financial situation. People with a low income who do not own property may apply for remission. This includes people aged 65 years or above who only receive an AOW (state) pension and do not own property.

You can ask for a Remission application form by telephone, collect one at the Town Hall or download one here below.

You must send all of the documents that we ask for along with your application. If we do not receive all of these documents, we will not be able to handle your application.

We work in collaboration with the water authority Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier (HHNK). This means that you should only apply to one of us for remission. We will let you know if you are entitled to remission.

When you apply for remission you give us permission to pass on your information to the water authorities who will need this information for processing your application.

You will be given deferment of payment until we have made a decision on your application for remission. This means that you do not have to pay anything as long as the decision has not been made. Have you authorised a direct debit for payment of this assessment? Your monthly payments will continue as usual. If you qualify for remission, we will refund the amount you have paid in instalments.

If you disagree with the decision on your application for remission, you must submit a reasoned notice of objection within 10 days of the date noted on the decision. Send your objection to:
